Ayn Rand and Bitcoin
Atlas Distribution Company, formed to distribute the trilogy adaptation of Ayn Rand’s epic novel, Atlas Shrugged and other motion pictures, has announced that it will accept Bitcoin payments in its popular online community forum: Galt’s Gulch.
Ayn’s Rand powerful 1957 novel continues to hold sway to this day because its message bears relevance to the impact of government actions in today’s society. “We’re very excited to finally accept Bitcoin as an alternative payment method,” said Associate Producer Scott Desapio, “The premise of Bitcoin is entirely inline with the principles of Atlas Shrugged so it’s a natural fit for us. We’re looking forward to doing a lot more with Bitcoin in the future.”
Galt’s Gulch, is a community of like-minded individuals who come together regularly to share interesting content and ideas with each other and debate about politics, economics, philosophy and more. Posts in the various categories can be browsed for free, but for producer-only content or merchandise, members must pay and now the site accepts bitcoin as payment, in addition to conventional methods.
The Galt’s Gulch Producer Membership includes access to special “Producers Only” events, including private question and answer sessions with the Atlas Shrugged Production crew, regular discounts on official movie merchandise, the ability to shut off ads, special Producers only invites for new features and content. A nominal membership fee of $3.95 a month is charged to become a member on the site which promotes the ideas of Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged. The forum’s goal is to facilitate communication between like-minded individuals.
Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt? is set to hit theaters September 2014. The film is an adaptation of Ayn Rand’s 1957 novel, “Atlas Shrugged.”
